Collection of scientific works “State Building and Local Government” was founded in 2001, and since 2002 it has been a scientific professional legal publication, where the results of dissertations for the degrees of doctor and candidate of sciences can be published. The relevant decisions were adopted by the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine (Resolution dated April 14, 2010) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (Order No. 241 dated March 9, 2016).

The publication of the collection of scientific papers entitled “State Building and Local Government” is based on the agreement on joint activities between the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine and the Scientific Research Institute of State Building and Local Government. The collection is registered with the Ministry of Justice as a print media (Certificate of State Registration of the print media Series KV No. 17470-6220 PR of 18 November 2010). And the International Centre for Periodicals (International Standard Serial Number) – ISSN 1993-0941. It has a full-text online version available via the platforms of the V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and is indexed in Google Scholar.

The thematic orientation of the collection includes actual problems of legal science of doctrinal and practical nature. It is issued for the purpose of timely and systematic briefing of the scientific community, practitioners of public authorities and local government on the results of scientific research on topical issues of improving the organization and functioning of public authorities in the light of the ongoing constitutional reform, state-legal conflict, the formation of local government and the activities of local councils, comparative law with the state and legal problems, legal issues of the state and local government.

Covering a wide range of problems of state and legal development and discussing the most important issues of improving the current legislation and practice of its application, the collection is designed for scientists, academics, graduate students and legal experts. The young scientist’s section is widely featured in the collection.

The Collection’s editorial board performs an internal and external review of all articles submitted to it. The collection is recommended for printing by the Academic Council of the Research Institute of State Construction and Local Self-Government. The collection comes out with a periodicity of 2 issues per year, the circulation – 300 copies.
